The access control and management system is mainly responsible for the support of the access control regime in the airport’s territory, and this implies division of personnel’s access rights to premises and objects, registration of vehicle entry/exit, registration of the passenger flow, surveillance.
The main task of the system is to prevent the infrastructure and property of the airport and the people in its territory from external threat, whatever it may be. Thus access control is implemented at external vehicle entry and exit points, guard posts, security control checkpoints and certain personnel facilities of the airport.

The task:
• to automate the operation of the guard desks with the possibility of registering the working time of employees.
• to automate the security control checkpoints and integrate the parking systems, with the possibility of registering vehicle number plates.
• to divide access rights to the airport’s premises and objects, and to assign different access rights to the personnel.
The access control and management system of the airport should include the following components:
• Personal identifiers (mainly non-contact proximity-cards or smart-cards are used as identifiers, but in order to limit access to certain objects, more and more often biometric identifiers are used now).
• Personal identifier readers (depending on the type of identifiers it can be proximity or smart card readers as well as biometric data readers – most often fingerprint readers with the possibility of identification by a card).
• Controllers of doors, turnstiles and other executive devices of the access control and management system. In order to improve the system survivability, the access control and management system is designed in a way to store the personal identifiers data and access rights in energetically independent computer memory.
• Executive devices of door locks, turnstiles, electric door drives and boom barriers.
• Vehicle number plate recognition system.
• Automated workplaces.
